Dental Bridges
A dental bridge can replace a single tooth, or multiple teeth. Bridgework consists of a false tooth, known as a pontic, which is fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. The two crowns hold the bridge in place. This is known as a fixed bridge. Bridges can protect the teeth adjacent to the open space by lowering the risk of gum disease and bone loss to the area, help correct some bite problems and even improve your speech. If you have areas of missing teeth, please ask us if bridgework is right for you.
