Cerec Crowns… A Single Visit Crown Treatment
A crown is a protective tooth-shaped covering placed over a tooth that is too badly damaged or decayed for a simple filling. Crowns also are used for cosmetic purposes to cover misshapen or badly discolored teeth. A crown, which many people call a cap, is created to look like your tooth. For most dental practices, it takes at least two visits to place a crown. In between appointments, the patient has to wear a temporary crown for several days.
At our practice, we place a high priority on reducing the complexity of dentistry and inconvenience for our patients. That’s why we’ve invested in a new crown fabrication system that allows us to do crowns in one visit, usually in less than 90 minutes.
We use the Cerec® CAD/CAM system to fabricate all-ceramic crowns in our office in only one appointment. The German technology has been in clinical use around the world for more than 17 years and is now available in the United States. We are one of very few practices in the area that use it.
